Pianist and Teacher
"Pianist Silas Berlin will be playing an afternoon piano concert at the Edgartown library Saturday, August 10, from 3 to 4 pm. The program will include Bach and Rachmaninov, and he and soprano Molly Conole will present Gustav Mahler’s “Songs of a Wayfarer,” a set of four songs, two of which are taken directly from Mahler’s first symphony."

Silas Berlin is a 2021 graduate of Cornish College of the Arts and is excited to be on the teaching end of table this time. Silas maintains a private teaching practice in the Seattle area. He enjoys a dual involvement with The Ladies Musical Club of Seattle as a public performer and board member. Winner of the silver medal in the 2021 Seattle Bach festival and gold medal of the 2022 Seattle Russian Music Competition, he is also experienced in jazz and in settings such as cocktail parties. Silas graciously welcomes the full circle opportunity of teaching at Cornish.
Concert pianist Silas Berlin returned to his hometown last week, playing a recital at the West Tisbury Library that drew more than 40 fans, friends and fellow musicians.
Now living in Seattle, Mr. Berlin is the 25-year-old son of versatile Island pianist Jeremy Berlin, one of many in the audience who smiled as they listened to the young performer whose musical development they have been following for years.
On Thursday, July 15, at 4 pm, the West Tisbury library hosts a live, in-person concert featuring Silas Berlin. He will perform works by Chopin, including selected preludes, selected etudes, Ballade no. 1 in G-minor, op. 23, and Fantasy in F-Minor, op. 49.
